Jilline Bond and her husband, James, love to serve others as pastors at their local church.
The Lewisburg, Penn., couple have worked with the community for three decades, but their service was threatened a few years ago when Jilline started having problems sleeping.
She eventually was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), but various treatments including a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine did not work.
Then came Inspire® therapy. Jilline qualified and was implanted in February 2021. She was activated a month later, and she said it was a “life-changing choice.”
Jilline knew something was wrong when she began to wake up feeling exhausted and drained of all energy. James also mentioned she was snoring.
A sleep study confirmed she had OSA, and this led her to a CPAP and a mouthguard. But she said the CPAP machine gave her headaches, and the mouthguard made her jaw stiff and sore.
Jilline was so frustrated that she stopped all treatment, but James told her that she stopped breathing regularly throughout the night.
It scared them enough that Jilline tried another CPAP machine, but she continued to struggle and woke up even more exhausted than before.
Jilline then saw an advertisement on Facebook, prompting her to make an Inspire therapy consult appointment.
She qualified and was implanted just a few months later, and it wasn’t long before she noticed an increase in energy.
She also began to travel again, and her husband doesn’t wake up in the middle of the night worried she’s going to stop breathing.
The best effect? Jilline feels like she is always ready to serve those around her.
