Tucson resident Randy Livingston struggled with normal, daily activities.
He suffered with symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) for decades and often fell asleep while driving.
It became difficult for him to even watch a movie with his family.
Livingston tried a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine. He subconsciously took his mask off in his sleep to make it ineffective.
He finally saw a story about Inspire® therapy.
Livingston later received the implant in 2017 and felt a difference the first few nights he used it.
“I’m living a much better life,” Livingston said. “I’m a happier person, and I just feel so much better.”
Livingston spent years feeling scared to go to sleep because he woke up gasping for air during the night.
He needed naps in the afternoon to make it through the day. The lack of sleep affected his mental health, as well.
“I stopped going out and doing things because I would fall asleep, and I just couldn’t be present,” Livingston said.
He needed a change and consulted with his doctor after seeing the news story.
Livingston started using the therapy in early 2018 after activation.
He now finds joy in the simple things in life again. This includes going to movies and taking road trips.
