Philadelphia Woman Gets Best Sleep in a Decade with Inspire® Therapy

Robyn Dellavalle went over a decade without treating her obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) despite a 2011 diagnosis.
Robin Dellavale said she’s able to live her life again, staying awake for conversations with friends and feeling more rested, since she began Inspire® therapy.

She tried to use a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine. But she is claustrophobic.

She just couldn’t find a mask she could use.

Dellavalle continued to lack quality sleep. She even dreaded bedtime.

Better sleep finally came in 2022 when she started Inspire® therapy.

“It is thoroughly life changing,” she said. “I feel that I am a little more fun. I can stay out a little later or stay up a little later.”

Dellavalle felt tired for years before receiving the Inspire® implant.

She lacked energy to do basic tasks, as well.

She knew she needed help. It was just too hard to use her CPAP machine.

“It was awful,” Dellavalle said. “People that don’t know what it’s like not to sleep, they just don’t understand it.”

Dellavalle found hope when she saw an Inspire therapy commercial on TV.

She began the qualification process and received the implant in November 2022.

Symptoms started to improve about a month after activation.

Dellavalle has more energy and is not as irritable now.

Her husband also told her she is snoring less.

Dellavalle stays awake during talks with friends again too.

“I just generally feel happier and rested and more like myself again,” she said.

Dellavalle’s success also pushed her younger brother to research Inspire therapy.

Randy received the implant in late 2023.

He began having similar success weeks after activation.
