Cremente said she woke up feeling more tired than the night before most days, but she attributed this to her busy schedule – commuting back and forth from New York City to her home in New Jersey each day for work.
This continued for over a decade, however, and her primary doctor decided she needed a sleep study. Cremente’s sky-high blood pressure even while taking prescribed medication made matters worse.
Her doctor diagnosed her with obstructive sleep apnea, and Cremente started to use a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine.
She was familiar with the device because her brother had been using one for 15 years, but she said using it “made her anxiety go through the roof.”
Cremente decided to do her own research, and she learned about the Inspire implant following dozens of searches.
She eventually found an Inspire-trained doctor while visiting the Inspire website and qualified. Cremente received Inspire in October 2021 and was activated a month later.
It took a few nights of going up levels on the Inspire remote, but after one of the best night sleeps in years, Cremente said Inspire therapy proved to be a life changing.
“It made my year,” she said.
Cremente was no longer tired in the morning. Her newfound sense of energy gave her the motivation to start exercising, as well.
She lost weight, and her blood pressure returned to normal levels, which prompted her doctors to allow her to stop taking medication.
Cremente’s improved quality of life made her want to help others like her, including members of her family. She now volunteers to share how Inspire therapy helps her achieve the best sleep in years.
