Got Inspire in April 2022

My implant date is April 2022 and I live in Salt Lake City, UT. Before the Inspire device, I was exhausted all the time. Inspire has dramatically improved my life. I no longer struggle with the CPAP machine; no more fighting with tubes, pressurized air leaks, stomach aches, lines on my face, or daily cleaning. No more lugging around the CPAP machine throughout airports when traveling. After Inspire I woke up rested for the first time in years. I have more energy and rarely need a nap.. My only regret is I wish I had been informed about it sooner. I love it!

Interests: I love to golf, and play pickleball. My husband and I love to travel. We recently returned from a cruise to New Zealand and Australia. I enjoy cooking and baking bread. I also love playing with my nine grandchildren.

Why I chose Inspire therapy to treat my sleep apnea: The CPAP was so uncomfortable. There were lines on my face every morning because it was so tight. The forced air was filling my stomach which was very uncomfortable . I spent money maintaining the CPAP, buying replacement hoses and masks and cleaning machines. I wasn’t getting the quality of sleep I needed. I was tired all the time. I travel a lot and hated hauling the CPAP with me then I would have to buy distilled water at my destination. I found it very cumbersome.

In a few short words, I would describe Inspire therapy as: I found relief on so many levels. Inspire is easy to maintain. Easily portable. There are no more lines on my face in the morning. No more stomachaches. The best part is I am finally getting good sleep! I feel like a new person. It’s the best thing I’ve done for myself!

Why am I a patient ambassador? I want to share my story so other people will have the opportunity to learn about how the device works and how much better life can be without having the headaches that come with a CPAP machine. I want to help others get the rest they need. I absolutely love my inspire!!
