The device is like anything else, it's not an immediate fix and takes time working with your team to get the correct settings for you. I have had amazing results ever since. It is a process much like training for a marathon, it takes time and patience to reach your goal.
My name is Bret Holmes and I received my Inspire implant in February of 2019. I have been employed as a Machinist instructor since the fall of 1997. After a sleep study in 2018 I began the sleep apnea journey. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea with a per hour score of over 55 AHI.
Once I got my Inspire, had all of the settings adjusted and had my final sleep study, my new AHI was 5.5 events per hour. Fast forward 4 years and I had another sleep study with the same results.
I send as much time as I can with family and friends. I serve as a board member for the county RAMP (recreation, arts, museum, parks) committee. In the past I have won 3 national championships in Judo. I am back to exercising 5-6 days a week. I used to go to bed around 7pm...now I can see sporting events, watch movies with my wife and still have energy.
After trying CPAP, Oral Appliance and Acupuncture, I found a doctor in my town who did Inspire, so I made an appointment. As they say, the rest is history. I understand everyone's experience with Inspire is not the same, but in my case, I 100% believe that my quality of life has made me feel 20 years younger. I have more energy, focus and get between 7-8 hours of great sleep.
I truly feel fortunate to be able to share my story and experiences with others who have questions about how Inspire works and how it has made my quality of life so much better.
