Got Inspire on November 14th 2018
My implant date is November 14th, 2018 and I live in West Jordan, UT. Inspire has changed my life by not being exhausted in the afternoon, and I could safely drive home from work. Before Inspire, there were a few times I had to stop off the road for a rest to make it home. My wife also no longer counts how many seconds I stop breathing before my next breath, so she can tell me the next morning. I do miss my Sunday afternoon naps, which I don’t take anymore, because I’m not tired in the afternoon.
Interests: Spending time with family. Yearly cruises, and other travel.
Why I chose Inspire therapy to treat my sleep apnea: Nothing else was working for me. I couldn't tolerate CPAP. Due to my bad allergies, I couldn't breathe with the mask more than half the year. UPPP surgery wasnt successful after 10 months. The gasping and wheezing for air came back. The mouth appliance had varied success, I had to go in to get a new one fitted each time I had dental wok done. Insurance only covered a small portion and I now have a slight underbite as a result. It was my dentist who specialized in mouth appliances for OSA, that knew about Inspire and suggested I take a look at Inspire as a better way for me to treat my OSA. I have him to thank for the journey towards Inspire.
In a few short words, I would describe Inspire therapy as: Most effective treatment, and most favorable and efficient outcome I have had in treating my OSA.
Why am I a patient ambassador? To share with others what my experiences have been, including struggles and challenges with other treatments. Sharing how Inspire has changed my life and my wife's. She no longer counts how many times I stop breathing each hour. We both sleep much better.
